Our Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid training qualification is designed for all employees who work in an organisation with children and infants. This qualification will enable each learner to provide support to the Paediatric First Aiders to maintain the welfare of infants and children. It focuses on topics advised by the Early Years Foundation Stage to maintain good practice in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health of children.
Our Emergency Paediatric qualification covers:
- The Responsibilities of a Paediatric First Aider
- Assessing an Emergency Situation
- Managing an Unresponsive Child
- Dealing with a Choking Child or Infant
- Wounds & Bleeding
This Emergency Paediatric course takes place over 1 day with a total of 6 hours of contact time.
Time: 9.30am – 4.30pm
This qualification is assessed through a theory assessment and an ongoing practical demonstration of the correct techniques within each topic above.
All candidates will receive a handbook to guide them through their first aid both during the course and back in the workplace.
All successful candidates will receive a certificate specifying their qualification shortly after attending their course.
The level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification is valid for 3 years after which each candidate must re-take the course if they wish to continue practicing.
Please note it is best practice to have some members of your staff trained to the Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (2 day) standard dependent on the amount of children or infants in your setting.
