Our Level 3 Paediatric First Aid training qualification is designed for those wishing to become a paediatric first aider in the workplace with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. This qualification complies with the guidelines set by Ofsted and focuses on topics advised by the Early Years Foundation Stage to maintain good practise in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health of children.
Our Paediatric qualification covers:
- The Responsibilities of a Paediatric First Aider
- Assessing an Emergency Situation
- Managing an Unresponsive Child
- Dealing with a Choking Child or Infant
- Wounds & Bleeding
- Fractures & Dislocations
- Managing Injuries and Illness.
This Paediatric course takes place over 2 days with a total of 12 hours of contact time and an additional 6 hours guided learning. We supply all our candidates with a preliminary handbook to assist in the course content and provide the extra 6 hour guided learning.
Time: 9.30am – 4.30pm
This qualification is assessed through a theory assessment and an ongoing practical demonstration of the correct techniques within each topic above.
All candidates will receive a handbook to guide them through their first aid both during the course and back in the workplace.
All successful candidates will receive a certificate specifying their qualification shortly after attending their course.
The level 3 Paediatric First Aid qualification is valid for 3 years after which each candidate must re-take the course if they wish to continue practising.
