Big News From Livius Training

We are thrilled to announce that as part of our ongoing commitment to the highest standards of childcare safety, we are extending our Blended Paediatric First Aid course to include a FREE 1-hour Benedict's Law Anaphylaxis training bolt-on — at no extra cost to you.

On top of that, we are also launching a brand new 1-hour standalone Anaphylaxis awareness course, perfect for childcare settings that need targeted allergy emergency training for existing staff.

What is Benedict's Law?

Benedict's Law — named after Benedict Blyth, a young boy who tragically died from an anaphylactic reaction — builds on the foundations of Natasha's Law and places greater legal duties on schools, nurseries, and registered childcare providers to have proper procedures in place for children with life-threatening allergies.

This means your setting must ensure staff are trained and confident to recognise anaphylaxis and administer emergency adrenaline auto-injectors (AAIs) such as EpiPens, Emerades, and Jext devices when required.

What's Included in the FREE Bolt-On?

When you book our Blended Paediatric First Aid course, your extended practical day will now include a dedicated 1-hour module covering:

  • Understanding anaphylaxis and its triggers in children
  • Recognising the signs and symptoms of a severe allergic reaction
  • How to use AAI devices correctly — EpiPen, Emerade, and Jext
  • Emergency response procedures and when to call 999
  • Record keeping and communication in allergy emergencies
  • How Benedict's Law applies to your setting and your responsibilities

New: 1-Hour Standalone Anaphylaxis Course

Not currently booked on our Paediatric First Aid course? No problem. We are introducing a brand new 1-hour standalone Anaphylaxis & Benedict's Law awareness session — ideal for:

  • Nursery and pre-school teams needing a refresher
  • School support staff and teaching assistants
  • Childminders and foster carers
  • Holiday club and after-school setting staff
  • Any childcare professional wanting to update their allergy training

This short, focused course can be delivered at our Boroughbridge training centre or arranged as an onsite session at your premises across North Yorkshire and beyond.

Why This Matters for Your Setting

Ofsted inspectors are increasingly focused on allergy management procedures within EYFS settings. Having staff who are trained specifically in anaphylaxis response — and can evidence that training — not only protects the children in your care but demonstrates a clear commitment to safeguarding that inspectors look for.

With our updated course, you can be confident your team meets both the EYFS Statutory Framework requirements and the expectations of Benedict's Law.

How to Book

Our next Blended Paediatric First Aid dates are filling up fast. To secure your place — and your free Anaphylaxis bolt-on — book online today or call us on 01423 396780 to speak to a member of our team about group bookings or the standalone course.

We are here to help your setting stay safe, compliant, and fully prepared for every emergency.
