Who Needs Food Safety Training?
All food handlers are legally required to receive food safety training commensurate with their work activities. Under EU Regulation 852/2004 and the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013, food businesses must ensure that staff who handle food are supervised, instructed and/or trained in food hygiene matters. This applies to all sectors including catering, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, care homes and schools.
