Who Needs First Aid at Work?
The FAW qualification is the HSE-recommended standard for higher-risk workplaces where the nature of the work creates greater risk of injury or ill health.
Requalification: Your FAW certificate expires after 3 years. The requalification course is 2 days (not the full 3). Don't let it lapse — book your renewal before expiry.

What You'll Learn
- Manage a comprehensive range of first aid emergencies in the workplace
- Perform CPR on adults, children, and infants using correct techniques
- Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) confidently
- Control severe bleeding, treat for shock and anaphylaxis
- Manage head, neck, and spinal injuries safely
- Provide first aid for fractures, dislocations, and soft tissue injuries
- Recognise and respond to medical conditions including diabetes, epilepsy, and cardiac emergencies
- Understand legal duties and documentation responsibilities
- Complete a first aid kit check and maintain records correctly
